He overtook me again immediately.
I gave him a wink at the lights.
I don't think he'd a blood transfusion.

Jim, who's that Italian bloke that Rapha that was a big coke user, got excommunicated and all sorts? I'd like to read the book.

The beakhead was Pantani, I heard this morning that the makers of Senna are making him their next subject which will be fucking ace. The one who got excommunicated was Coppi. I have books on both if you wanna borrow, the Pantani in particular is amazing.

Il Pirata! The film looks ace and the book is next on my list. As soon as you take an interest in cycling I think you naturally begin to appreciate the Italians obsession with the sport. I'm reading Pedalare! Pedalare! which makes you realise just how sadistic the Giro used to be - 450km stages on single gear bikes in freezing conditions, full of pictures like this of Magni chewing innertube to distract from a broken collarbone.

Jim have you been to Rapha in soho yet?

I have mate - great space and decent coffee. I did the ride with them today.
As for books, funnily enough BlockUp put me onto Pedalare! Pedalare! Herbie Sykes' Maglia Rosa is another great Giro history.

ace, it looks like a fantastic route - and a finely turned out peleton no doubt. Thanks for the book tip, will add it to the list.

R: totally vibing on the Cockney Olympics, ace to be living in a host Borough
S: closure of Folkestone racecourse imminent. been the scene of many a jolly boys outing, will be sorely missed in kent and SE London. Northern Racing x tory council x property greed = shameful turnout
